Q&A with the Artist

Tell us how your work is made.

I am trained in fashion and accessory design and my specialty is in hand leather working. All of my apparel and accessories pieces are made entirely by hand, by myself. I use cowhide leather that is a byproduct of the meat industry, contributing to sustainability practices by turning waste material into luxury goods.

What makes you passionate about the medium you work with?

Sustainable practices in fashion are very important to me and my aim is to create quality handmade items that will last a lifetime. I source sustainable materials when possible, and aim for the highest quality in craftsmanship to ensure a long lasting product, and create classic and timeless designs that don't follow trends so they can carried forever and passed on as heirlooms.

What is something unique about you or your practice?

I use traditional hand working leather techniques, such as hand tooling and wet molding, to create modern wearable pieces. I incorporate couture hand sewing techniques into all of my pieces and strive for zero-waste sustainability practices in my production methods.
