Q&A with the Artist

Tell us how your work is made.

My work is made using the lost wax casting process. I create in wax (often knitted wax), make plaster/refractory molds around the wax and melt out the wax. The empty molds are placed in a kiln where glass is melted into them. The molds are destroyed to get the glass out. All processes happen in my studio.

What makes you passionate about the medium you work with?

Glass is kinetic and alive without actually moving, since it is constantly changed by the light around it.

What is something unique about you or your practice?

My work looks like fabric. It looks flexible and animated when it is not.
