Small Batch Brooklyn specializes in steam-bent wooden jewelry and sculpture. The work often blurs the line between craft, fine arts and design in the form of unique wearable art. By scaling down and "freestyle" steam bending I am able to push traditional techniques into non traditional form through a deep understanding of the material potential of wood. Rainy Lehrman received her MFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute in 2008 and her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2002 where she studied Furniture Design. Lehrman has exhibited internationally and is currently living and working as an artist, educator, fabricator and facilitator in Brooklyn, New York.
